All projects funded by this Programme must demonstrate a strong cross-border component and impact, both in their design and development, with a clear focus on results. This means that all the entities in the consortium must work together to develop, evaluate and transfer the results. If you have a project idea with Spanish partners (minimum funding of 200 k€), this could be a great opportunity!
Additional information can be found here (only available in Portuguese or Spanish).

Erasmus may seem like a very confusing funding programme (and it really is!). However, we do not want this to be the cause for you not to apply. In this context, we tried to simplify a bit the programme and select the calls that may be relevant for CESAM members. In each call, we give some key topics and tips for you to see the dimensions of the projects (e.g., consortium, duration and funding).

]]>The UNESCO World Heritage Site, Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG Kew), is funding the Emily Holmes Memorial Scholarships for postgraduate botanical research, supported by the Amar-Franses & Foster-Jenkins Trust. You may apply to earn a scholarship between £1,000 and £3,000.
The Trust strongly encourages applications from researchers who face challenges in obtaining funding from alternative sources and for whom a grant would substantially impact their academic pursuits. This emphasis aims to support those who might otherwise struggle to advance their research due to financial constraints.
Applicants must demonstrate a clear alignment with the Kew Science Strategy in their proposals. Successful applications will exhibit a robust connection to Kew’s scientific endeavors, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of Kew’s diverse research domains. This includes familiarity with Kew’s five strategic priorities: Ecosystem Stewardship; Trait Diversity and Function; Digital Revolution; Accelerated Taxonomy; and Enhanced Partnerships
Eligibility
Eligibility for the funding is restricted to students currently pursuing postgraduate studies at a research organization or university, with applications accepted globally. Strong applicants will have established a collaborative relationship with a Kew scientist who is willing to support both the project and the application. This collaboration is crucial, as it demonstrates a clear alignment with Kew’s scientific endeavors and showcases an understanding of Kew’s diverse research domains. For those who have not yet established such a collaboration, it is important to note that a letter of support from a Kew scientist is mandatory for funding consideration. Postdoctoral researchers are not eligible for funding.
Funding
The Scholarship fund is a total of £10,000 per year. The maximum an individual student can be awarded is £3,000, with grants typically made between £1,000 and £3,000.
Funding can cover the direct costs associated with carrying out a research project. This includes, but is not limited to, travel and subsistence for research visits or fieldwork, conference fees, lab work and consumables. The funding may be used to cover the academic fees of the applicant, however this would only be in cases where the need was greatest and could be clearly justified by the applicant.

]]>The Driving Urban Transitions European Partnership has launched an online survey to define the thematic priorities of the 2025 and 2026 DUT transnational calls.
The survey is aimed at professional urban designers and entrepreneurs, as well as researchers working in the field of urban transitions, and aims to identify and highlight the most pressing urban priorities and challenges that will help cities become more inclusive, sustainable, and liveable.
The Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) Partnership is a public-public partnership between currently 68 partners from 29 European countries, and the European Commission. As a transnational research and innovation programme, it addresses key challenges that cities face in their endeavour to become sustainable and enhance the quality of life for their citizens.

]]>The 3rd Geo-INQUIRE call for Transnational Access to research infrastructures is open to receive applications from interested users (researchers, technicians, students and other professionals) of 1) ECCSEL-ERIC: CO2 Capture, Utilisation, Transport and Storage (CCUS); 2) High-Performance Computing for the simulation of geophysical phenomena and probabilistic hazard analysis; and 3) Testbeds.
Topic
Geo-INQUIRE is a Horizon project coordinated by the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences in Germany. This project provides and enhances access to selected key data, products, and services, enabling the dynamic processes within the geosphere to be monitored and modelled at new levels of spatial and temporal detail and precision.
The present call is open to researchers, technicians, students, and other professionals working in the research areas covered by the installations. However, other scientific fields will also be considered if the proposed projects are feasible and relevant to the Geo-INQUIRE research topics. Information about the capabilities and research topics of each individual installation is described here.
Eligibility
Transnational Access will be provided to selected user groups (teams of one or more researchers). The PI is the person in charge of the project, i.e., should be the one visiting the installation, directly working on the deployment of experiments, publishing and reporting.
Access will only be granted to users allowed to disseminate the generated results through open-access means.
Applications from female PIs and from PIs working in one of the widening countries, associated countries and outermost regions of Horizon Europe (Portugal is included) will be given special attention during the evaluation process.
Funding
The access provided through Geo-INQUIRE is free of charge for the selected users, and includes all access costs necessary to perform the proposed research, such as equipment, support personnel at the installation, consumables, training for external users, among others.
Specific installations provide financial support for travel and subsistence for users who visit them.
How to Apply
Access applications should be submitted online through the Geo-INQUIRE website here. Before submitting a proposal, potential applicants are strongly advised to email the contact person associated with the installation of choice for guidance on the feasibility of their project.
